WisSports.net Level 2 Team of the Week Nominees:

Appleton North - The Lightning had gone down to Hudson each of the last two years in the postseason, but got a measure of revenge in 2014 as they took down the Raiders 21-3. Ethan Danz was a workhorse all day, carrying the ball 37 times for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Black Hawk - Ithaca entered Friday's game against Black hawk as the highest scoring team in the state, but the Warriors held the Bulldogs in check in a 16-0 shutout victory. A balanced running attack for Black Hawk saw Shawn Woodruff, Jacob Quinn, and Heath Butler combine for 229 yards.

Cambria-Friesland - Heading into 2014, the Hilltoppers hadn't won a playoff game since 2006, but are now into Level 3 after a 28-16 win over Hilbert. Andrew DeYoung rushed for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns, as the team went for 342 on the ground.

Reedsburg - The Beavers went down to Monona Grove in a non-conference Badger crossover earlier this year, and appeared headed for trouble again in Level 2 after falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter. A second quarter touchdown drive and huge 82-yard punt return by Noah Geffert just before half pulled the Beavers within 14-12. It stayed that way until the 4th quarter when Reedsburg drove for what ended as the go-head touchdown in a 20-14 victory.

Somerset - The Spartans are in the midst of another outstanding season, going undefeated during the year, continuing through the playoffs. Eight players combined to rush for 434 yards and 6 touchdowns in a 40-6 win over Ellsworth that has them back in Level 3 for the fourth straight year.
