Rice Lake looked good in the early going of Division 3 state championship game, jumping out to a 10-7 lead on Wisconsin Lutheran early in the second quarter. The Vikings would score the games next 27 points and went on to a 42-18 victory and the school's fourth WIAA championship, their first since 2007.

Rice Lake's Luke Fleming drilled a 29-yard field goal to open the scoring, as the Warriors went 45 yards in 13 plays on the game's first drive. Wisco answered back with a 52 yard drive of their own, as Austin DeNoyer went in for a 2-yard scoring run.

Rice Lake re-took the lead on a 30-yard pass from Erik Hovde to Noah Pierce early in the second quarter, but that 10-7 advantage was the last lead the Warriors would have.

Wisconsin Lutheran rattled off two straight scoring drives in the 2nd quarter to lead 20-10 at halftime, and added two more touchdowns in the third quarter to pull away.

Most of the damage was done on the ground, as the Vikings racked up 313 yards on 48 carries. Quarterback Logan McShane led the way with 138 yards on 21 carries and a score, while Terrance Ward and Austin DeNoyer each found the end zone twice.

Rice Lake's hot start didn't continue, as they were limited to 245 yards of total offense in the game.
