WIAC Athletes of the Week
(Week of Dec. 1 - 7)

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Grant Erickson, Sophomore (Lakeville, Minn./North), Guard of UW-River Falls
Erickson helped the Falcons to two road WIAC wins during the week.  He scored 16 points in a 90-79 win at UW-Superior and a team-best 22 points in a 65-59 victory at UW-Eau Claire.  In the win at Eau Claire with UW-River Falls leading, 57-56, with 1:20 to play, he hit a three-pointer and later hit 3-of-4 free throws to help the Falcons to the win.  His floor play was nearly flawless in the two contests with 11 assists, no turnovers and five steals in 68 minutes of playing time.  He shot 8-of-15 (.533) from the floor, including 1-of-2 (.500) from behind the arc.  Erickson was 21-of-31 (.677) from the line for 38 points and also had five rebounds.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Sally Linzmeier, Senior (Valders, Wis.), Guard of UW-Superior
Linzmeier notched 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds in a 66-56 win against UW-River Falls on Dec. 3, while going 7-of-11 from the field.  History was made against UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 6, when Linzmeier became the program's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Sandy Eilertsen's (1983-87) previous record of 1,300 points.  Linzmeier finished the contest with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.  She went 9-of-20 from the field, while nailing all four of her free throws in the 58-50 win for the Yellowjackets.
