Markie Ash of Waupaca co-op girls hockey has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of December 1 through 7 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 1,967 votes this week with Ash receiving 798 of them. Nick Noskowiak of Sun Prairie boys basketball finished second in the voting with 472 votes. 

Ash is the state leader in goals and points so far this year, including a huge game last Tuesday against Northern Edge. She scored 5 goals in the contest, including a second period hat trick and the game-winner in overtime as the team won 6-5.
