VIDEO: 3/4 court, off the bounce, around the rim...and in
Does anyone remember that old McDonald's "The Showdown" commercial featuring Larry Bird and Michael Jordan, where they take turns calling, and making, ridiculous shots from all over the arena?
Well, the shot by Saint Thomas More's Jacob Schley last Tuesday would have fit right in with that.
At the end of the third quarter with his team leading Martin Luther 37-27, Schley grabbed a rebound under the opposing basket, and from the free throw line, hurled one towards the other end. He didn't get a chance to get much on it, so it bounced just inside the other free throw lane, but then up and around the basket, dropping in.
Unfortunately, the shot did not count, and Saint Thomas More would go on to lose the game...by 3 points, 52-49 as Martin Luther completed a furious comeback by outscoring the Cavaliers 25-12 in the 4th quarter.
