Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of February 23 through March 1. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: February 23 - March 1

Emma Brauer, Brookfield Central girls basketball, finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds in their 63-58 upset win over No. 5 and top-seeded Milwaukee King on Saturday to advance to sectional play. In their 46-41 win over Brookfield East in a Regional Semifnal, Brauer scored 12 points. 

Austin Braund, Holmen boys basketball, finished with a game-high 15 points help the Vikings to a 45-44 win over Onalaska on Thursday. The win captured the Vikings first outright Mississippi Valley conference title since 2002. 

Tessa McChesney, McDonell Central girls basketball, scored a game-high 18 points in the Bulldogs 53-48 win over 2-seed Turtle Lake in a Division 5 Regional Final on Saturday. On Friday, the Bulldogs knocked off top-seeded Clayton 49-39 with McChesney finished with 12 points.

Dylan Phinney, Appleton United boys hockey, finished with 31 saves in their 3-1 victory over top-seeded Bay Port to help Appleton United advance to the state tournament. Phinney also compiled 41 saves in their 3-2 overtime win against Notre Dame in a Sectional Semifinal on Tuesday. 

Sydney Stroud, Madison Memorial girls basketball, hit the game-winning basket with less than a second to play to lift the Spartans past 4-seed Janesville Parker 44-43 in a Division 1 Regional Final on Saturday. Stroud finished with 14 points in the game. In their Regional Semifinal win over Kenosha Tremper she scored 4 points.
