Division 1 Girls Basketball Semi-Final Notes: DSHA and D.C. Everest advance to the Championship Game

DSHA's Arike Ogunbowale put on a show, scoring a state tournament record 55 points in the Dashers 86-76 overtime win against Middleton to advance the the Division 1 State Championship Game. 

The back-and-forth contest had 19 lead changes and saw the scored tied 15 times. DSHA outscored Middleton 26-21 in the fourth quarter to force overtime and defeat the Cardinals by 10 points. 

Ogunbowale went 21-for-45 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line to finish with 55 points. The Notre Dame recruit's performance is tied for third all-time in the state's single-game scoring record. 

Arike also finished with 12 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists in the win. 

Junior Taylor Drost added 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks for the Dashers. 

Middleton answered every run that Ogunbowale and the Dashers had until overtime. The Cardinals shot 39.3 percent for the game and hit 7 of 18 three-point attempts. 

Senior Cole Jordee finished with a team-high 18 points, while fellow senior Elizabeth Norregaard and sophomore Bria Lemirande each scored 11 points in the Cardinals balanced attack. 

DSHA will play D.C. Everest in the Division 1 Championship Game. The Dashers are looking for their first state title in school history. 


D.C. Everest topped Arrowhead 42-32 in a defensive battle to advance to play DSHA in the Division 1 State Championship Game. 

The Evergreens used strong defensive play to hold off late runs by Arrowhead and win despite finishing with 30 fewer shots than the Warhawks. 

D.C. Everest shot 12-for-26 from the field but turned the ball over 27 times, while Arrowhead shot just 13-for-56 from the field and turned it over 16 times. 

Northern Michigan recruit Taylor Hodell finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 blocks to lead the Evergreens. 

Fellow senior Mackenzie Mathies and freshman Taylor Petit each finished with 8 points, while senior Hannah Tipple added 7 points for D.C. Everest. 

Arrowhead was led by Northern Illinois recruit Ally May who finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. 

D.C. Everest is looking for their first state title since 1986. The
