Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of May 25 through 31. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: May 25-31

Danielle Kohlwey, Holmen girls' track & field, advanced to the Division 1 state meet in the 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, and long jump. Her time of 14.38 in the 100 meter hurdles is the best across the state this season. 

Marissa Mullen, Appleton North softball, went 2-for-4 with a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to give the Lightning a 3-0 lead and went on to defeat top-seeded and 7th ranked Hortonville 9-5 to advance to sectional play. She also got the victory in the circle, striking out two and walking one. 

Claire Rosenberg, Racine Lutheran softball, finished with 5 strikeouts and added a hit and a run to lead the Crusaders' to a 4-3 win over top-seeded and 7th ranked Catholic Central on Sunday in a D4 Regional Final. 

Jake Watzka, Green Bay East/West baseball, tossed a complete game one-hitter while finishing with 18 strikeouts and sitting down the last 19 hitters in order, which included 14 straight strikeouts in their 6-1 win over Green Bay Preble on Thursday. 

Kristian Welch, Iola-Scandinavia boys' track & field, advanced to the Division 3 state meet in the 100 meter dash, long jump, 4x100 meter relay, and 4x400 meter relay. His long jump of 22 feet, 10.5 inches at sectional is the best in the state this season. He also received football scholarship offers from North Dakota State and South Dakota State last week.
