Full team information and records are not available on all spring baseball state champions, but it's hard to imagine many, if any, entered the postseason with a losing record. We now have at least one team that meets that criteria however.

Sporting a 12-13 mark in the larger, and very strong, Wisconsin Little Ten heading into the playoffs, Milwaukee Lutheran used that experience to race all the way through the Division 2 tournament and secure a 4-3 victory over Notre Dame for the championship.

The Red Knights pushed across single runs in the 1st and 2nd innings, and added two more in the third. TD Walker (5 innings, 1 ER) and James Wright (2 innings, 0 ER) made the lead hold up, though it was another very close game.

Notre Dame got two runs in the third and one in the fourth to pull within one, but left at least one runner on base in each of the final three innings, including a pair in the final frame.

It is the third WIAA spring baseball title for Milwaukee Lutheran, who also captured back-to-back championships in 2002 and 2003. Notre Dame settles for it second runner-up finish in the last three seasons.
