As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 3 Game of the Week: Menasha (2-0, 2-0; D2 #2) at Xavier (2-0, 2-0; D3 #6) -- Friday, 7 pm
Neither of these teams was in the Bay Conference two years ago, but now, after significant realignment in the Fox Valley area, they find themselves meeting up in a league game for the first time. Menasha is coming off a Division 2 state title and has yet to allow a point this year, beating Green Bay West and Shawano by a combined score of 97-0. It's been a balanced effort on both sides of the ball, though the new quarterback/running back combo of Luke Nagel and Jadin Sell have performed very well. Xavier has a strong defense of its own, with 11 senior starters. Last week, with the offense struggling in adverse weather conditions, it was the defense that came up big in a 24-6 victory over Seymour. Noah Severin picked off three passes, including two that he returned for touchdowns. Quarterback Zach Simons threw for more than 3000 yards last year, but without his top receiving threats from a season ago, has struggled a bit to start 2015. He'll need a big game for the Hawks to have a shot at knocking off the defending champs.
