Air National Guard Week 5 Player of the Week Nominees:

Hunter Johnson, Darlington - Darlington took a big step towards a third straight SWAL title with a 34-14 win over fellow unbeaten Cuba City on Friday. The Redbirds went up 21-0 at halftime, but Cuba City scored twice early in the 4th to pull within 21-13. In a span of two minutes, Johnson went for scoring runs of 78 and 63 yards to seal the deal. He finished the day with 17 carries for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Blair Mulholland, Kimberly - Just like the last two seasons, Mulholland had not played much in the second half of games this year as Kimberly posted dominating victories. However, in a Week 5 slugfest with rival Appleton North, Mulholland's services were needed right down to the final play. He carried the ball 50 times for 299 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Papermakers held off the Lightning for a 35-28 win.

Samuel Staehling, Plymouth - Plymouth's Samuel Staehling was an outstanding two-way player last year, earning WFCA All-Region on both sides of the ball. He turned it up a notch in a Week 5 win over Kettle Moraine Lutheran, rushing 16 times for 371 yards and 6 touchdowns, an average of 23.2 yards per carry. He also caught a 50-yard touchdown, had a kick return for 32 yards, and recorded 3 tackles on defense in the 55-20 victory.

D.J. Vance, Janesville Parker - After two straight 2-point losses to open the season, Parker has now won three straight games, including an impressive 36-15 victory over Madison East last Friday. Vance scored all five Vikings touchdowns in the game, finishing with 303 yards and 4 touchdowns on 22 carries, adding a 44-yard scoring catch as well. All five touchdowns went for at least 40 yards.

Noah Zurbuchen, Elk Mound - The Mounders scored nine rushing touchdowns in a 67-6 win over Colfax Friday night, as Zurbuchen was responsible for six of them, including five in the first half. He finished the day with 18 carries for 248 yards and 6 touchdowns, crossing 1000 yards on the season as the Mounders remained undefeated.
