WisSports.net Content Manager and Girls Basketball Writer Norbert Durst will be honored as the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Media Person of the Year at a banquet Saturday night in Wisconsin Dells.

A 2004 graduate of Weston High School, Norbert joined WSN in 2012 as a Content Producer, and quickly took over as the full-time girls basketball writer as well. Since then, he has covered girls basketball in the state of Wisconsin through recruiting updates, season previews, playoff breakdowns, and much more.

Durst graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Technologies with an emphasis in Broadcasting. Prior to joining WSN he worked in radio in the Milwaukee area and coached girls basketball at the youth and high school levels, including a stint as an assistant coach at Homestead High School.

With exclusive content and insight into the statewide girls basketball scene, Durst has helped grow the sport's coverage on WSN and the WSN Extra subscriber base. His relationships with high school coaches, college coaches, and AAU programs have resulted in unmatched coverage and promotion of high school girls basketball anywhere in the state. His increased profile has led to dozens of interview appearances on radio stations around Wisconsin each year.

Durst will receive his Media Person of the Year award as part of the WBCA Hall of Fame Banquet to be held Saturday, September 26th at the Glacier Canyon Lodge, part of the Wilderness Resort, in Wisconsin Dells.

In addition to Durst's recognition from the WBCA, WSN boys basketball writer Mark Miller was inducted into the WBCA Hall of Fame last season and WSN founder Nicholas Kartos is a past winner of the Media Person of the Year award and a member of the WBCA Executive Board. WSN General Manager and Football Writer Travis Wilson received the Dave McClain Distinguished Service award from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association earlier this year.

Congratulations to Norbert on this outstanding honor!
