As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 6 Game of the Week: Menomonie (4-1, 2-1; D2 #9) at Rice Lake (5-0, 3-0; D3 #1) -- Friday, 7 pm
I could have gone with Arrowhead against Catholic Memorial, Brookfield Central versus Marquette, or even Poynette-Lodi, but I'll go with the Big Rivers battle between Menomonie and Rice Lake. Both teams had struggles last week, with Menomonie going down to Superior 31-28 on a last minute field goal, dropping the Mustangs out of the top spot in the Division 2 Coaches Poll. After averaging 60 points per game through the first four games, Rice Lake was held significantly under that in a 20-7 win over Hudson. Both feature outstanding ground games, with Rice Lake a bit more balanced overall, as North Dakota recruit Isaiah Secrest has 697 yards, Alain Pierre has 406, and Dylan Roberts has 312. On the other side, Menomonie relies heavily on Wisconsin-bound Mason Stokke in the running game, as he averages 180 yards per game and leads the state with 18 rushing touchdowns. Menomonie has an edge at the quarterback spot with Iowa recruit Nate Stanley. Despite all the offensive talent, this game last year was low-scoring, with Rice Lake holding on for a 13-12 victory.
