Air National Guard Week 7 Player of the Week Nominees:

Javian Dayne, Waunakee - To get it out of the way, yes, Dayne is just a sophomore. Oh, and yes, he's 'that' Dayne, the son of former Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne. He's also making his own mark, helping the Warriors to a 17-12 win over rival DeForest Friday night. He provided a spark in the running game when Waunakee needed it, carrying the ball 19 times for 132 yards and a touchdown. On a 12-play, 81-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter, he carried the ball on every play, capping it with a two-yard scoring plunge as the Warriors stayed undefeated on the season. He also starts at defensive end, where he helped hold DeForest to just 174 yards of offense.

Justin Maratik, Fond du Lac - The Cardinals not only got their stiffest challenge of the season on Friday night against Hortonville, Fondy trailed 21-20 in the fourth quarter. However, Maratik's 3-yard touchdown run put the Cardinals ahead for good, 26-21. He finished the day with 222 yards and 2 touchdowns on 25 carries as Fond du Lac secured at least a share of the VFA-South title with two games to go.

Ben Nienhuis, Oconomowoc - In a battle of unbeatens, Nienhuis made sure the Raccoons' undefeated season remained intact, throwing a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to help secure a 28-14 victory over Slinger. He finished 20 of 29 for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Nienhuis has been near the top of the state's passing lists all season, and is currently 3rd in passing yards and 2nd in touchdowns this year.

Tim Schauf, West Salem - The Panthers desperately needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, but the task was daunting against Mississippi Valley Conference-leading La Crosse Logan, who was coming off an impressive win over Holmen. Tied 14-14 heading into the 4th quarter, West Salem blew the game open with three touchdowns in less than six minutes, winning 35-21. Schauf capped the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run, his second of the game. He completed 10 of 18 passes for 133 yards, adding 18 carries for 88 yards on the ground.

Brandon Thull, Kewaskum - If you have not seen Thull's ridiculous touchdown run from Friday night, do yourself a favor and check it out here now. It has already been seen on ESPN and many other national sites and shows. His performance was bigger than that one incredible run however, as he carried the ball 20 times for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Kewaskum beat Berlin in a battle of unbeaten East Central squads. Did we mention it was his birthday on Friday?
