WisSports.net Week 7 Team of the Week Nominees:

Beloit Turner - The Trojans have not made the playoffs since 1992, one of the longest postseason droughts in the state, but that could all change in 2015 thanks to a program-defining 44-43 victory over Brodhead/Juda. The win makes Turner playoff-eligible and almost certain to advance to the postseason, and marks the first win over Brodhead/Juda since 1991. The team lost starting quarterback Seth Smith to an injury last week, and the back-up was not allowed to play due to a violation of team rules. Juan Reyes did not practice at quarterback all week, and stepped in during pre-game warm-ups, but did an admirable job. He threw a touchdown pass and ran 20 times for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns out of a Wildcat-type offense, recording 17 tackles on defense as well.

Catholic Memorial - The Crusaders spent the first four weeks of the season as the #1 team in the WisSports.net Division 3 Coaches Poll, but back-to-back losses not only dropped them in the rankings, it put their playoff hopes in jeopardy. Facing last year's Division 2 runner-up Waukesha West wasn't a must-win game, but it sure was important. West led 20-13 at halftime, but the Crusaders scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to score a 34-20 victory. It was a balanced rushing effort for Catholic Memorial, as Jaylen Campbell and Josh Karfonta each went over 100 yards as the team finished with 300.

Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau - G-E-T trailed undefeated Westby 20-6 at halftime of their Coulee Conference game Friday night, but there was no quit in the Red Hawks. Kody Gunderson threw three second-half touchdown passes, including a pair of 12-yard scores to Lucas Scherr, as G-E-T rallied for a 26-20 victory. Gunderson finished 5 of 9 for 125 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Scherr caught 4 passes for 112 yards and 3 scores.

Reedsburg - The Beavers are a consistent playoff contender under Brian Pottinger, but it appeared Reedsburg did not have the breakaway offensive threats of years past, which had limited them against some of the top teams on their schedule. Averaging just 14 points per game entering Friday night's Badger-North showdown with Mount Horeb/Barneveld, the Beavers put up more than twice that number in a 30-16 win. Five Beavers runners combined for 257 yards and a pair of scores, while Cal Mazur and Jack Yager combined to complete all five pass attempts for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns. The defense held All-State candidate Max Meylor to 207 yards passing and picked him off twice, adding a pair of fumble recoveries as well.

Rice Lake - After four games, the Rice Lake offense was on a record pace, averaging more than 60 points per game. They've slowed to "only" 20, 20, and 21 in the last three games, but against some of the best competition in the state, their wins have been even more impressive. The undefeated and D3 top-ranked Warriors trailed Superior 17-9 early in the third quarter, but Jake Roberts scored on a pair of short touchdown runs in the fourth quarter to secure a 21-17 victory. Roberts saw more time at running back as leading rusher Isaiah Secrest was out for the game.
