As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 8 Game of the Week: Saint Croix Central (7-0, 5-0; D4 #3) at Osceola (6-1, 5-0; UR) -- Friday, 7 pm
Sure, Osceola may be unranked currently, but they probably should be ranked in their pre-season projected Division 3. The Chieftains have just one loss on the year, a 17-14 setback to D5 powerhouse Arcadia way back in Week 1, the closest game Arcadia has had all season. Also, based on the latest playoff projections done on WisSports.net, there is a very strong chance Osceola ends up in Division 4, where they would almost certainly be ranked in the #5 to #8 range. They are fast and physical, with several players who will likely end up as scholarship athletes in Division 2 or perhaps Division 1. Saint Croix Central is new to the Middle Border Conference this season, swapping places with Durand after previously competing in the Dunn-St. Croix. They've made the change quite smoothly, going undefeated thus far, though there have been several challenges along the way. A run-heavy offense under head coach Tony DiSalvo, the Panthers have three players (Cody Gostovich, Trenten Smith, Kyle Larson) who averaged more than 75 yards rushing per game. This one will decide the Middle Border Conference race, and likely determines which team gets a top seed in the playoffs.
