The Tomahawk Hatchets have been selected as the Level 1 WisSports.net Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team went on the road to shutout third-seeded Black River Falls, 19-0. The Hatchets were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 6,332 votes were cast, as Tomahawk's 2,357 votes votes narrowly edged Eau Claire Memorial's 1,703.

Not only has Tomahawk made the playoffs for the first time since 2007, the Hatchets scored an impressive 19-0 shutout victory over 3rd-seeded Black River Falls. Dane Borchardt carried the ball 31 times for 132 yards, while Kaleb Kaminski had a passing and rushing touchdown as well. Easton Phalin added an 88-yard interception return for a touchdown as Tomahawk (and the weather) shut down the passing attack of BRF.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 2 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
