Marquette, Whitefish Bay, Mount Horeb, & Sturgeon Bay claim boys soccer state championships

Division 1 – The Marquette University Hilltoppers (20-2) defended their title by defeating the Arrowhead Warhawks (21-2-3) 5-2.  Scoring in the 4th and 5th minute for the Hilltoppers were Chaney Christenson and Casey Reich respectively.  In the 18th minute Reich gets his 2nd goal for the game. Sam Holton scores for the Hilltoppers in the 28th minute.   The Warhawks get on the board in the 42nd minute with a header into the goal from Blake Carr. Zak Wegner scores on a PK for the Warhawks in the 50th minute.  In the 78th minute Reich scores his 3rd goal of the game for a hat-trick.  This was the Hilltoppers 15th trip to State and their 11th title.

Division 2 – The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes (23-2-1) are the Division 2 champions with a 1-0 win over the Cedarburg Bulldogs (19-1-4).  Nicholas Andriacchi’s gets the only goal of the game in the 35th minute.  The Blue Dukes outshot the Bulldogs 10-7.  This was Whitefish Bay’s 12th trip to State and 3rd time they are taking the championship trophy home.

Division 3 – The Vikings of Mount Horeb (16-6-4) only needed one in the net to beat the Rice Lake Warriors (18-7-1).  The lone goal of the game came in the 79th minute from Ben Stephens.  The Vikings outshot the Warriors 32-1.  This was the 5th trip to State for the Vikings and their 2nd title.  

Division 4 - Sturgeon Bay Clippers (22-3-3) shut out the University School of Milwaukee Wildcats (17-2-1) 2-0.  The Clippers put a goal on the board in each half, the first in the 25th minute by Robbie Hohlfelde and the second by Alessandro Nora in the 56th minute. This was the Clippers 5th trip to State and their first time taking the gold ball home.
