Garret Wegner of Lodi has been selected as the Level 3 Air National Guard Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. The All-State candidate booted a state record-tying five field goals, including the game-winner. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 3. A total of 6,008 votes were cast, as Wegner's 2,028 were enough to edge second place Chris Hess of Omro, who tallied 2,001.

At most high schools, the hope is that the kicker doesn't screw things up for you by missing easy extra points. At Lodi, kickers have been a true game-changer the last several years, and Wegner is on pace to be an All-State selection. His candidacy was certainly helped with five made field goals in a 15-14 win over Columbus, including the game-winner from 24 yards out as time expired. His five field goals tied a state record set last year Poynette's Anthony Rittmeyer.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Air National Guard Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. This will be the final Player of the Week poll of the season. See you all next year!
