MEN’S BASKETBALL
Cole Van Schyndel, Junior (Kaukauna, Wis./Wrightstown), Forward of UW-Whitewater
Van Schyndel matched a career high with 29 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the floor and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds to help the No. 25-ranked Warhawks down Wheaton College (Ill.) 80-72 at Kachel Gymnasium on Dec. 9. Just four days after posting career highs in both categories at Beloit College (Wis.), he recorded a nearly identical performance in 34 minutes of action. Van Schyndel also hit 7-of-8 from the free throw line, including 5-of-5 in the second half.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Madison Johnson, Senior (Osceola, Wis.), Forward of UW-Eau Claire
Johnson broke the school single-game scoring record on against North Central College (Ill.) on Dec. 12. She scored 42 points in 30 minutes and ripped down 17 rebounds. The previous record was 36 points held by Vanessa Schley against UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 17, 2001. The 42 points matched the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference single-game mark set by UW-Platteville’s Stephanie Sullivan against UW-Oshkosh on Feb. 19, 1992. Johnson was 23-of-37 (62%) from the floor and 15-of-19 (79%) from the free-throw line for the week. She led the Blugolds in scoring and rebounding in both contests, averaging 30.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in the two games. The Blugolds came up two points shy of Luther College (Iowa) 71-69 on Dec. 9, and defeated North Central 94-89.
