Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Division 1

Bay Port remains as the top-ranked team in the Division 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. The Pirates lone game of the week is at home against Manitowoc Lincoln. Second-ranked Middleton edged Janesville Parker in overtime on Friday night. The Cardinals host Madison East on Saturday. Marshfield moved up one spot to No. 3 this week after posting wins over D.C. Everest and Wausau East last week. The Tigers travel to Wausau West on Friday and have an afternoon game at Waunakee on Saturday. No. 4 Verona hosts Janesville Craig on Saturday. Oak Creek continues to climb in the rankings, checking in at No. 5 this week. The Knights travel to Kimberly on Saturday in a non-conference matchup. Ninth-ranked Sussex Hamilton hosts Brookfield East tonight in a matchup of teams that are tied for second in the Greater Metro. No. 10 Appleton North hosts Neenah tonight in their first FVA matchup of the season. 

Division 2

Top-ranked Pius XI Catholic extended their state best winning streak to 42 games with their win over Wauwatosa West on Friday. Notre Dame moves up two spots to No. 2 this week after defeating previously unbeaten Pulaski, 61-38 last Tuesday. Beaver Dam also moves up two spots this week, the Golden Beavers are now No. 3 in the Coaches Poll. Monona Grove is No. 5 this week and travel to No. 7 Stoughton tonight in a Badger-South contest. Stoughton won the first matchup, 67-60. Waukesha West dropped to No. 6 after falling to Milwaukee King last week. No. 8 Hortonville travels to Fond du Lac tonight in a FVA contest. New Berlin West and Cedarburg round out the top 10. 

Division 3

Whitewater continues to hold down the top spot in the Division 3 WisSports.net Coaches Poll, with unbeaten teams Hayward and Marshall are closely behind. Marshall faces a couple quality opponents this week, hosting D4 No. 10 Wisconsin Heights and traveling to New Glarus on Friday. Madison Edgewood lost to D5 No. 1 Barneveld on a buzzer-beater and they drop to No. 4 this week. Fifth-ranked Freedom edged Denmark 64-61 last night and face Wrightstown (11-1) on Thursday. No. 9 Xavier plays at Seymour tonight in a contest of teams tied for second in the Bay Conference. Undefeated Wittenberg-Birnamwood (13-0) joins the rankings this week. 

Division 4

Algoma moves in the top spot of the Division 4 Coaches Poll this week. The Wolves host No. 3 Lourdes Academy on Saturday. Kenosha St. Joesph, like Lourdes, moves up two spots this week and are No. 2 in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Mineral Point ended Cuba City's 61-game winning streak and move up to No. 4 this week, while Cuba City, last week's No. 1, drops to No. 5. Marathon drops four spots to No. 6 after falling to D5 No. 2 Assumption last Thursday. Eighth-ranked Aquinas host Holmen on Friday, both team are 5-1 in the Mississippi Valley. Blugolds lost their first matchup 51-49.

Division 5 

Top-ranked Barneveld won their 24th consecutive game on Saturday, beating Madison Edgewood on a Hannah Whitish buzzer-beater. Second-ranked Assumption got revenge from an early season loss to Marathon, winning 46-45 on Thursday. Undefeated Sheboygan Christian move up one spot to No. 3, switching spots with Fall River to drops to No. 4 after falling to a D2 No. 5 Monona Grove 77-64 on Saturday. No. 7 Shullsburg travels to Platteville (10-3) tonight. Undefeated and eighth-ranked Bangor has games at Wonewoc-Center and Necedah this week.
