WIAC Athletes of the Week
(Week of Jan. 11-17)
 
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Ben Boots, Freshman (Kimberly, Wis.), Guard of UW-Oshkosh
Boots averaged 19 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals during UW-Oshkosh victories of 80-69 over UW-La Crosse on Jan. 13, and 64-59 over UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 16. Boots totaled 38 points by making 9 of 14 shots (64.3 percent) from the field, including seven 3-point baskets in 10 attempts (70 percent), and 13 of 14 free throws (92.9 percent). His two-game performance also included six rebounds, four steals and two assists. In UW-Oshkosh’s home win over UW-La Crosse, Boots came off the bench to score 26 points and grab two rebounds in 26 minutes of playing time. He was 6 of 8 shooting from the field, including 5 of 6 behind the 3-point line. His half court shot as time expired gave the Titans a 36-30 halftime lead. During the Titans’ road win over defending NCAA Division III champion UW-Stevens Point, Boots came off the bench to count 12 points, four rebounds and three steals in 24 minutes of action. Boots reached his scoring value with the help of two 3-point baskets in four attempts.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Erin O’Toole, Sophomore (Plymouth, Minn./Hopkins), Center of UW-Eau Claire
O’Toole averaged 24 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during the week. She had a season-high 35 points in a 81-67 victory at UW-Stout on Jan. 13. O’Toole was 14 of 21 (67%) from the floor and 7 of 8 from the free throw line, while adding seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Her 35-point performance places her with four other Blugolds for third on the school’s single-game scoring list. She had 13 points and eight rebounds in a 71-62 loss at UW-River Falls on Jan. 16.
