Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Division 1

Middleton moves back into the top spot of the Division 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll for the first time since Week 4. Middleton travels to Sun Prairie on Thursday, they won their first matchup 99-87 back in December. Bay Port, last week's No. 1 team, drops to No. 6 this week after dropping games to Notre Dame (D2 #2) and Pulaski (D2 #4). Oak Creek is the second-ranked team in this week's poll, moving up two spots. Fourth-ranked Mukwonago travels to Muskego tonight and hosts Arrowhead on Friday. The bottom five of the D1 Coaches Poll is the same as last week. 

Division 2

Top-ranked Pius XI Catholic, riding a 45-game winning streak, has a big week. Tonight they host New Berlin Eisenhower, won first contest 46-40, and Friday they welcome in Pewaukee who they edged 44-42 the first time around. Fifth-ranked Waukesha West travels to Arrowhead tonight and hosts No. 9 New Berlin Eisenhower on Saturday. No. 7 New Berlin West hosts Pewaukee tonight, they lost their first contest by 16 points. No. 8 Hortonville travels to Kimberly on Thursday, they are tied for first in the FVA. 

Division 3

Whitewater continues to be the top-ranked team in the Division 3 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Hayward and Marshall are both sitting at 17-0 and right behind Whitewater in the rankings. Freedom, Brodhead and Kettle Moraine each move up one spot with Madison Edgewood dropping their past three games and moving down to No. 10. Undefeated Somerset moves up three spots to No. 7, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood remains at No. 9 despite losing to Amherst, their first defeat of the season. 

Division 4

The top eight spots remain the same as last week in the Division 4 Coaches Poll with Algoma and Kenosha St. Joseph leading the way. Sixth-ranked Marathon travels to Auburndale on Thursday, the Apaches knocked off Assumption last week. Kewaunee and Howards Grove switch places this week with Kewaunee suffering their fourth loss of the season. 

Division 5

Barneveld is riding a 27-game winning streak and have their annual non-conference matchup against No. 2 Assumption on Saturday at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. Nebraska recruit Hannah Whitish and the Golden Eagles are 99-3 in her four years, but are just 3-3 against Assumption. Fall River and Loyal each move up one spot in the rankings, while Sheboygan Christian drops to No. 5 after losing to Oostburg, their first loss of the year. Milwaukee Academy of Science joins the rankings at No. 9, they are 17-1 so far this season. Riverdale drops three spots to No. 10 after losing to Cuba City last week.
