Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Baseball Awards presented by Easton.

The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to six finalists. Winners are announced the week of the spring baseball state tournament.

WSN Senior Baseball Awards -- Infielder/Catcher Finalists:

Justin Lavey, Kenosha Tremper -- Lavey committed to Louisville nearly two years ago, and could hear his name in the MLB Draft this weekend as well. A versatile infielder, full stats are not available for him, but in 11 games of information, he has 21 RBI with a .579 batting average and OPS over 1.200.

Gavin Lux, Kenosha Indian Trail -- Lux will likely become the first Wisconsin high school player drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft since 1979, as scouts love his tools in the field and his emerging power at the plate. The senior shortstop helped Indian Trail to the #1 ranking in Division 1 at the end of the year, with a .476 batting average and .959 OPS. He hit 4 home runs on the season.

Ben Rortvedt, Verona -- Many observers consider Rortvedt the top high school catching prospect in the country, and he could be drafted in the first three rounds of the MLB Draft this weekend. Currently committed to Arkansas, he improved his defense this season and was strong at the plate, hitting .393 with an OPS over 1.000.

Cody Ryan, Markesan -- Named the Trailways-North Player of the Year, Ryan is third in the state with 34 RBI, hitting .459 on the year with a 1.268 OPS. He added 15 steals as well. Also a candidate for the Pitcher award, he went 8-0 with a 0.44 ERA.

Jake Wiedower, Saint Francis -- Wiedower excelled as both a position player and pitcher for the Mariners, going 7-3 with a 1.40 ERA on the mound. At the plate, he is second in the state in hits with 50, posting a .543 batting average, .622 on-base percentage, and 1.252 OPS. He also added 11 steals on the season.
