The 39th Annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games were held in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, June 18th at the JustAgame Fieldhouse.
The North team got a strong performance from Marquette-bound Sam Hauser of Stevens Point, as the co-Mr. Basketball scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, adding 5 assists. Deang Deang (Madison East, 16 points); Cole Schmitz (Verona, 12 points); and Brandon Myer (Superior, 12 points) reached double-figures as well. The South was led in scoring by Marquette's Job Alexander with 16 points.
The South Division 1 All-Star team pulled away to capture a 92-81 victory over the North squad. New Berlin Eisenhower's Jack Sirek led five players in double-figures with 15 points. Wausau East scoring machine J.P. Lacy led the way for the North, pouring in 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
A strong first quarter for the South All-Star team held up as the team cruised home for a 97-90 victory over the North in the Division 3 All-Star Game. Trent Jones of Dodgeville scored 18 points to lead the South, who shot 49.4% for the game. The North was led by G-E-T's Nick Wagner, who made four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points.
A huge second quarter blew the game open for the Division 4 North All-Star team, who scored a 96-84 win over the South. Six players reached double figures for the North, as Cameron's Peyton Dibble and Regis' Logan Rohrscheib shared team-high scoring honors with 16 points. The North team shot a torching 15 for 27 on three-point attempts, good for 55.6%. The South was led in scoring by Ozaukee's Mike Richter, whose 15 points led six players in double figures.
The South team trailed by six at the end of the first quarter but dominated the rest of the way in an 80-64 win in the Division 5 Boys All-Star Game. Spencer Wright of Abundant Life had a game-high 19 points, shooting 5-for-7 from behind the three-point arc. He was one of five South players in double-figures. The lone North team player in double-figures was Newman Catholic's Jake Gajewski, who had 10 points.
