The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association has released the official school enrollment numbers for the 2016-17 sports season. The enrollments are used to determine divisional placements in each of the 24 WIAA-sponsored sports. The figures do include charter school numbers, though it is important to note that some sports team enrollments may be different if schools are involved in co-op programs.

Kenosha Indian Trail is the largest high school in the state, with an enrollment figure of 2,597. Sun Prairie is next with 2,271, and it comes as no surprise that the school district is discussing opening a second high school in the coming years. Arrowhead is third (2,217), followed by Racine Horlick (2,199), and Marquette (2,148). Note that Marquette, and other single-gender schools such as Divine Savior Holy Angels and St. John's Northwest Military Academy, has it's actual enrollment figure doubled to determine the WIAA figure.

We will be updating these new enrollment numbers on school and team pages in the coming weeks. Once we receive the full list of football programs, including co-ops, from the WIAA, we will produce a list of projected divisional placements and cutlines.

You can see an archive of enrollment history for all schools going back more than a dozen years on our Schools page by clicking here.
