We asked, you voted. The results of our poll on who you think will win state titles in each of the 7 divisions.

Division 1:  Not surprisingly, powerhouses Kimberly and Arrowhead dominated the voting, with three-time defending champion Kimberly receiving 423 of 930 votes.

Division 2:  I learned long ago not to count out a Dave Keel-coached team, and the fans seem to agree, as despite heavy graduation losses from last year's title team, Homestead gets the nod over Waunakee with 256 of 887 votes.

Division 3:  Many people thought that Catholic Memorial was the favorite last year but the Crusaders fell to Notre Dame in the title game. This year, the team got 328 of 845 votes as the D3 favorite.

Division 4:  It was close, with several teams receiving a good amount of support, but defending champion Osceola got the edge with 148 of 797 votes.

Division 5:  Amherst was a dominating state champion last year and despite losing a pair of players to the Badgers, the Falcons earned 247 of 873 votes.

Division 6:  Saint Mary's Springs has won back-to-back state titles and remain the favorites, receiving 242 of 766 votes.

Division 7:  Eleva-Strum earned the most votes in Division 7, as the Cardinals picked up 153 of 773 votes.

Thanks to all who participated, and in just over 3 months we'll find out if you were right!

Vote for who you think will win State Championships in all seven divisions!

Happy football everyone! Today teams begin practice around the state, with every group sharing a similar goal:  hoist a gold ball as state champion.

As the season gets underway, it's time for you, the fans, to vote for who you think will win state titles in each of the WIAA's seven divisions. The top ten in each division (sorted alphabetically) of the WisSports.net Off-Season Rankings are included, but those certainly aren't the only ones that could, or will, win championships. If you think it will be someone off the list, sound off in the comments below. We'll leave the voting open through Monday at 8 am.
