WisSports.net Week 2 Player of the Week Nominees:

Javian Dayne, Waunakee - It was The Dayne Game all over again, though this time it was the son of Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne doing the damage. Against Badger Conference cross-division rival Monona Grove, Dayne took over in the second quarter, going for four touchdowns to pull the Warriors out of an early deficit. Dayne finished with 26 carries for 226 yards and 5 touchdowns in the 45-14 victory.

Brennan Demmark, Waukesha North - A grueling Classic Eight Conference schedule awaits them, but the Waukesha North Northstars are off to an impressive 2-0 start to the season after a 49-13 Week 2 win over Whitnall. Demmark completed 18 of 28 passes in the game, throwing for 382 yards and 7 touchdowns, just one shy of the state record.

Noah Larson, Baraboo - Baraboo did not have the kind of 2015 season it'd hoped, but the Thunderbirds feel they have what it takes to get to the playoffs for the first time in a decade this year, and a big reason for that optimism is senior star Noah Larson. Committed to North Dakota as a linebacker, he showed just how talented he is as a football player in a 27-20 non-conference win over Oregon. He rushed 31 times for 423 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging 13.6 yards per carry. He had touchdowns of 74-, 1-, 77-, and 68-yards in the victory. His 423 rushing yards ties him for 10th on the state's single-game rushing list.

Will Stewart, Appleton North - The Lightning are a well-balanced offensive attack this year, able to do damage on the ground or through the air. However, when it comes to crunch time, they'll rely on a talented offensive line and strong ground game to get the job done. That was the case Friday in a showdown with defending VFA-South champion Fond du Lac. A back and forth game was decided late, as Stewart scored three touchdowns in the final quarter and a half to put the team on top for good in a 38-28 victory. He finished with 30 carries for 191 yards and 4 touchdowns on the day.

Tyler Szews, Menasha - The Bluejays entered the season as the favorites to repeat in the Bay Conference, with Shawano as a possible upstart. Friday's game was close at half, with Menasha clinging to a 28-21 advantage. Then, Szews and the ground game took over, as he scored three second-half touchdowns to lead the team to a 49-21 victory. He carried the ball 36 times in the game for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging 11 yards per carry.
