As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 3 Game of the Week: Xavier (2-0, 2-0; D3 #4) at Menasha (2-0, 2-0; D2 #2) -- Friday, 7 pm

These two programs have experienced considerable success over the last few years, including a combined 15 playoff victories in the past three seasons. Last year in this match-up, Xavier scored a pair of late touchdowns to win 26-22, despite 198 yards and 2 touchdowns from Menasha running back Tyler Szews. After missing the first game of 2016, Szews broke out in a big way last week with 396 yards in a win over Shawano. That running game will be the focal point for the Bluejays, while Xavier will counter with what is shaping up to be yet another outstanding passing attack. After incredible success by Matt Ferris and Zach Simons the last couple years, Hunter Plamann has taken over at quarterback this season and shown to be more than capable, with a 64.6% completion rate and 532 yards in two games, though he's coming off a two-interception game against Seymour last week. This one could go a long ways in determining the Bay Conference title.
