The Hudson Raiders have been selected as the Week 2 U.S. Army Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team went on the road to score an impressive 33-30 victory over Arrowhead. The Raiders were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 3,539 votes were cast, as Hudson's 1,279 votes edged Winnebago Lutheran's 875.

The Raiders have put on some miles this year, with a 470-mile round trip to Middleton in Week 1 to face Greenfield, followed by a 582-mile round trip to Arrowhead in Week 2. Head coach Adam Kowles had to be feeling a bit of deja vu Friday night, as his team went up big on Arrowhead early in the game, only to see the Warhawks rally and take the lead in the second half. It was the same scenario as last year, when Hudson led 27-7 in the third quarter, only to see Arrowhead score 28 unanswered points in a 35-27 victory.

This year was different however, as Hudson stayed strong and regained the lead for good with 7:51 left to play in a 33-30 win. The Raiders racked up 322 rushing yards, led by 152 from Jagger Marvin. Aaron Squires had three touchdown runs to help topple Division 1's second-ranked team.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
