Jordan Dabney, Senior (Monteca, Calif.), Wide Receiver of UW-Stout
Dabney hauled in five passes for 223 yards and two TDs in the season-opening 45-30 win over Simpson College (Iowa) on Sept. 3. Dabney had receptions of 10-, 62-, 12-, 70-, and 69-yards. His 62 yard reception to the 1-yard set up a one-yard jaunt by running back Travis Urlaub early in the second quarter to put UW-Stout ahead 10-3. His 70-yard score with 1:44 remaining in the first half answered a Simpson score and tied the score before halftime. Dabney’s most exciting play of the game came with 34 seconds remaining in the third quarter when he juggled the pass several times while hauling it in from QB Jay Alston and turned it into a 69-yard score where he still managed to easily beat his defender to the end zone to extend UW-Stout’s lead to 38-30. Last season, Dabney hauled in four passes for 124 yards and two TDs against Loras College (Iowa). Dabney's day was the first time a UW-Stout receiver exceeded 200 yards since Dan Austin set the school record with 241 yards in 2003.
