FOOTBALL
Offense

Drew Patterson, Sophomore (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton), Running Back of UW-Whitewater
Patterson tallied 22 carries for 227 yards (10.3 average) and three touchdowns to help lead the No. 2-ranked Warhawks to a 59-13 win over Belhaven University (Miss.) at Perkins Stadium on Sept. 10. His 54-yard scoring run with 3:17 left in the second quarter put UW-Whitewater ahead for good. Patterson added rushing touchdowns of 23 yards in the third quarter and 17 yards in the fourth quarter to finish with three scores for the second straight game. His yardage output was the most by a Warhawk running back since Levell Coppage compiled 236 yards at UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 5, 2011.

Defense
Colin Buck, Senior (Greendale, Wis./Franklin), Defensive Back of UW-Whitewater
Buck tallied four tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble to help the No. 2-ranked Warhawks defeat Belhaven University (Miss.), 59-13, at Perkins Stadium on Sept. 10. He forced a fumble late in the second quarter to help the UW-Whitewater defense make a goal line stand and set up a touchdown that put the team ahead for good. Buck posted his first interception at the 14:22 mark of the second quarter, and returned his second interception 79 yards for a touchdown with 11:49 left in the fourth. The Warhawk defense forced eight turnovers for the day.

Special Teams
Ryan Kruser, Junior (Waunakee, Wis.), Wide Receiver of UW-La Crosse
Kruser had three punt returns for 98 yards (32.7 average) in UW-La Crosse's 65-14 victory over Ripon College (Wis.) on Sept. 10. He had a 76-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter giving the Eagles a 14-0 lead. It marked UW-La Crosse's first punt return for a touchdown since Eric Donoval's 84-yard return in a 37-6 win over UW-Platteville in 2008.
