U.S. Army Week 6 Team of the Week Nominees:

Appleton West -- It has been quite the turnaround for West in the last couple seasons, as the team went from 1-9 in 2014 to a playoff berth last year, its first since 2004. The Terrors' program took another step forward last week, knocking off crosstown foe and VFA-North heavyweight Appleton North 34-28. The offense racked up 302 rushing yards, as Alec Goffard (118) and Patrick Ourada (176) each went over the century mark. The defense picked off North three times as well, with one returned 62 yards for a touchdown by Josh Nieves and another in the end zone in the final seconds to preserve the win. It was West's first win over North since 2003.

Coleman -- A match-up of unbeatens between Coleman and Suring turned into a blowout, as Coleman pulled away for a 48-6 victory to move to 6-0 on the season. The Cougars did not complete a pass in the game, but they didn't need to, as the ground game chewed up 405 yards, accounting for seven touchdowns on 43 carries. Jake Baldwin led the way with 141 yards and 3 scores on just 9 carries, while Jacob Zeitler added 122 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts. The Cougars haven't lost a conference game since September 20th, 2013 against Peshtigo.

Durand -- The Panthers bounced back from a non-conference defeat against Grantsburg with an impressive 29-6 win over previously undefeated Spring Valley, keeping pace with Glenwood City atop the Dunn-St. Croix. Durand and Glenwood City meet this week for control of the league race. Against Spring Valley, Josh Biesterveld rushed for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns on 26 attempts, and the defense limited the Cardinals to just 173 yards of offense.

Laconia -- Winnebago Lutheran had been cruising this year, putting up dominating numbers on both offense and defense. That is until they ran into Laconia. The Spartans went up 12-0 early on and added another touchdown in the third quarter to hold on for an 18-10 victory. Laconia had 193 yards and 3 touchdowns on 47 carries, limiting WLA to 73 yards rushing. The team forced four turnovers, including three fumble recoveries.

Whitefish Bay -- The Blue Dukes entered the fourth quarter with a 16-14 lead, but before it was all done, the team would need to rally in the final minutes to beat Germantown 32-25. After a Germantown field goal put the Warhawks up 17-16, Whitefish Bay tried for three points of its own, only to see Colten Thomas block his second field goal of the game, with Waymon McNeal returning it 70 yards for a touchdown and 25-16 lead with just five minutes remaining in the game. Just a minute later however, Cade Garcia hit Alex Anthony for a score, and the Blue Dukes got a stop with one more chance to go ahead. They drove into the red zone and took a 26-25 lead on Zach Lichosik's field goal. David Thompson would put a cherry on it with a 29-yard Pick-6 to provide the final margin and keep Whitefish Bay undefeated in North Shore play.
