FOOTBALL
Offense

Matt Knapp, Senior (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial), Wide Receiver of UW-Eau Claire
Knapp hauled in six passes, scored three touchdowns and had 195 all-purpose yards in the Blugolds’ 40-14 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sept. 24. His first touchdown came on a 9-yard pass to put the Blugolds up 15-0 in the first quarter. Knapp found the end zone again in the second quarter with a 49-yard reception. He scored his third touchdown of the day on a 19-yard reception late in the third quarter. Knapp averaged 18.3 yards per catch on the day.

Defense
Kevin Sanchez, Junior (Jefferson, Wis.), Defensive Back of UW-Stevens Point
Sanchez was pivotal in swaying the momentum of UW-Stevens Point’s 44-19 win over Adrian College (Mich.) on Sept. 24. Two and a half minutes before halftime, he scooped up a fumble and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown, the second-longest fumble return in school history. At the time, Adrian was nearing the end zone in a 13-7 game, but after Sanchez’s fumble return, the Pointers took a 20-7 lead and never looked back. Sanchez also picked off a pass and broke up two others. He had 11 tackles on the day, one shy of the team high.

Special Teams
Eli Wettstein, Sophomore (De Pere, Wis.), Placekicker of UW-Oshkosh
Wettstein converted all nine of his extra points to tie his own school record and that of current teammate Greg Rand during UW-Oshkosh’s 77-0 victory over Morthland College (Ill.) on Sept. 24. Wettstein followed UW-Oshkosh touchdowns with five successful kicks in the first quarter and four in the second. He also tallied nine extra points during UW-Oshkosh’s 2015 win over UW-Stout. Wettstein recorded seven touchbacks on his 10 kickoffs against Morthland College. His three returned kickoffs were stopped at the Patriot 20, 9 and 10-yard lines.
