The Appleton West Terrors have been selected as the Week 6 U.S. Army Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The Terrors beat Appleton North for the first time since 2003 in a big crosstown game. The Terrors were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 3,363 votes were cast, as Appleton West's 1,393 votes edged Laconia's 781.

It has been quite the turnaround for West in the last couple seasons, as the team went from 1-9 in 2014 to a playoff berth last year, its first since 2004. The Terrors' program took another step forward last week, knocking off crosstown foe and VFA-North heavyweight Appleton North 34-28. The offense racked up 302 rushing yards, as Alec Goffard (118) and Patrick Ourada (176) each went over the century mark. The defense picked off North three times as well, with one returned 62 yards for a touchdown by Josh Nieves and another in the end zone in the final seconds to preserve the win. It was West's first win over North since 2003.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 7 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
