Brandon Berg of Pewaukee has been selected as the Week 9 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. Berg helped the Pirates claim a win in the Woodland Championship crossover game. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 6,934 votes were cast, as Berg's 2,873 were enough to edge second place Hunter Merrill of Ripon, who tallied 2,752.

The Woodland-West champion Pirates faced off with Woodland-East champ Greenfield for the Woodland Conference title game on Thursday in a game that counted in the league standings for both teams. Pewaukee never trailed in the game, but it was close throughout, as the Pirates scored a 37-29 victory. Berg had a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to help seal the deal, finishing with 125 yards and 3 touchdowns on 10 carries. He also had 7 tackles on defense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 1 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
