Wisconsin Lutheran College has been chosen to win the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference women's basketball title according to the 2016-17 NACC Preseason Poll, voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

The Warriors collected 13 of 24 first-place votes and tallied 274 poll points. Last season, WLC (20-8, 16-4 NACC) saw its string of regular season championships come to an end after a runner-up finish but rallied in the postseason for its sixth consecutive NACC Tournament title.

Last season's champion, Concordia University Wisconsin was second in the poll with 270 points and 10 top nods, Milwaukee School of Engineering was third with 235 and Lakeland University was fourth with 202 and the remaining first-place pick.

Benedictine University collected 189 points for fifth, Aurora University 164 for sixth and Alverno College 147 for seventh.

Concordia University Chicago had 137 for eighth, Edgewood College followed in ninth with 98 and Marian University 10th with 77. Dominican University and Rockford University rounded out the poll with 42 and 37 points.

The NACC regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tourney champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
