Kevin Stemke Award Finalists for top senior kicker/punter

The Kevin Stemke Award is presented annually to the state's top senior kicker or punter as part of the WSN Senior Football Awards. The award is named after former Green Bay Preble and University of Wisconsin standout Kevin Stemke. At Wisconsin, Stemke was presented with the Ray Guy Award as the nation's top punter and holds UW records for highest punting average in a career (43.5) and total punting yards (10,660).

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state finals.

Kevin Stemke Award Finalists:

Max Allen, Waunakee - Allen has been a standout for several years for the Warriors, earning WFCA Honorable Mention All-State last year, and this season continues to be very consistent. He's connected on 44 of 45 extra point attempts, made five of six field goals, and been outstanding on kickoffs as well.

Eric Hietpas, Little Chute - Hietpas is a three-year kicker for the Mustangs, booting through 10 of 13 field goal attempts this season, with one of the misses coming from 52 yards out. He was also good on 48 of 49 extra points, bringing his career total to 108 for 114. As a punter he averaged 39.2 yards per attempt for head coach Brian Ryczkowski.

Sam Kline, Superior - The team's second-leading receiver, Kline was also the team's punter and kicker. He averaged nearly 30 yards per punt as a senior, connecting on 37 of 38 extra point attempts. He was good on a 22-yard field goal as time expired to beat Eau Claire Memorial 22-21 in Week 3.

Collin Larsh, Monona Grove - Larsh is outstanding as both a punter and kicker for the Silver Eagles, and earned a preferred walk-on offer from the Badgers. In his senior season, Larsh averaged 34.8 yards per punt, with nine out of 35 downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. He made 51 of 53 extra point and six of nine field goals on the season.

Adam Stage, Kimberly - A WFCA Honorable Mention All-State kicker last season, Stage is a First Team All-Conference selection once again after a senior season that saw him make five of six field goal attempts and 61 out of 68 extra points.
