WSN 8-Man Football Awards

The WSN 8-Man Football Awards were launched in 2016 to recognize the outstanding players participating in reduced player football. Awards presented will be Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. All players are eligible regardless of grade level.

Each year, a preseason Watch List will be produced, then narrowed down to five finalists to be announced the week prior to the 8-Man Jamboree. Winners will be announced the week following the 8-Man Jamboree.

These awards are not associated with any conference nor the WFCA awards, and are presented independently by WisSports.net.

Defensive Player of the Year Finalists

Will Donohoe, Abundant Life/St. Ambrose - "Will was heart of the Challenger defense all season," said head coach Mark Martinez. "He was a fireplug in the middle of our defense and the defensive captain." On the season, the 6-1, 220-pound Donohoe recorded 76 tackles, including 61 solo stops. He added 7 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.

Jase Kuffel, Northwood/Solon Springs - A two-time captain, Kuffel had an outstanding senior season with 30 solo tackles and 4 tackles for loss. "Jase is an extremely hard-working kid in the off-season, and an extremely fast linebacker and also a very hard hitter," said head coach Matt Hager.

Preston Lane, Luck - "Preston is the best all around defensive player that I have ever coached at a non-all star situation," said co-head coach Ryan Humpal. As a senior, he led the Lakeland-8 with 89 total tackles.

Tylan Parman, Wisconsin Heights - The conference leader with 90 tackles, he was also near the top in the state in 8-Man Football. He also recorded 3 interceptions and had a sack as Heights made a solid debut in the reduced player game. "He is able to play sideline-to-sideline and disrupt the passing game," said head coach Jeff Supernaw.

Jordan Siebert, Prairie Farm - Also a 1,000-yard rusher who threw for 11 touchdowns, Siebert's versatility shone on the defensive side of the ball as well. He led the team with 72 tackles on the season, picking off 6 passes as well.
