John Ross Linscheid of Highland has been selected as the Level 2 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. Linscheid helped the Cardinals get a road win at top-seeded Ithaca. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 2. A total of 2,757 votes were cast, as Linscheid's 1,150 were enough to edge second place Eric Fridl of Catholic Memorial, who tallied 891.

The Cardinals went into undefeated Ithaca and came away with a dominating 49-13 victory in a Division 7 playoff game. Linscheid led a rushing attack that posted 360 yards and 7 touchdowns, as he carried it 19 times for 203 yards and 6 scores himself. He also threw for 37 yards in the win.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
