Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of December 19 through 25. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: December 19-25

Cole Caufield, Stevens Point boys hockey: Caufield recorded a hat trick in the Panthers' 7-0 win against Wausau East/Merrill on Thursday. Cole finished with 2 goals and an assist in their 7-0 victory over Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday. Caufield leads the state in goals (26) and points (39) so far this season.  

Gabe Madsen, Bloomer boys basketball: Madsen scored 50 points in the Blackhawks' 106-35 win over Spooner on Thursday. He went 18-for-25 from the field and knocked down 13 of his 18 three-point attempts. On Tuesday, Gabe tallied 14 points in a 79-40 win over Cumberland. Madsen, just a freshman, is averaging 22.8 points per game this season. 

Victoria Nowak, Waupaca girls basketball: Nowak scored a career-high 46 points, state-high this season, in their 80-70 win over Berlin on Thursday. She also contributed 33 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in the victory, while going 28-for-34 from the free throw line. Nowak, a senior, is averaging 21.4 points, 20.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.4 steals, and 3.9 blocks per game this season. 

Alex Ranney, Lake Mills boys basketball: Ranney scored a career-high 44 points in the L-Cats' 92-61 win over Marshall on Thursday. He finished with 19 points in their 69-61 win over Cambridge on Monday. Ranney, a senior, is averaging 24.1 points per game this season. 

Jennifer Wendler, Owen-Withee girls basketball: Wendler scored a school-record 37 points, while adding 14 rebounds and 4 blocks in the Blackhawks' 74-36 win against Greenwood on Thursday. She finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds in their 49-31 victory over Gilman on Tuesday. Wendler, a sophomore, is averaging 22.8 rebounds, 12 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game this season.
