Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of December 26 through January 1. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Trevor Cook, Washburn boys basketball: Cook scored 52 points, second-most in the state this season, in the Castle Guards 81-77 win over Mellon on Tuesday. He followed that performance up with a 45-point game in their 71-70 victory against South Shore on Friday. Cook, a senior, is the second-leading scorer in the state, averaging 34.5 points per game for the 5-1 Castle Guards.  

Kobe King, La Crosse Central boys basketball: King finished with 31 points in the Red Raiders victory over defending Division 2 state champion Kaukauna, 92-81, at the 12th annual Rick Majerus WBY Shootout. In a 57-56 loss to Pius XI, King tallied 29 points and made 8 of 10 free throw attempts. The senior and Wisconsin recruit is averaging 24 points per game this season for the 6-1 Red Raiders. 

Bria Lemirande, Middleton girls basketball: Lemirande was named the MVP of the Christine Rathke Memorial Tournament in Franklin after scoring 30 points in their 78-71 win over D4 No. 2 Lourdes Academy in the championship game. She tallied 12 points in their 75-59 win over Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Wednesday and scored 15 points in the Cardinals' 85-56 victory against Franklin on Tuesday. Lemirande, a senior, is averaging 14.8 points per game for the 9-0 Cardinals. 

Erika Simmons, Melrose-Mindoro girls basketball: Simmons finished with 28 points and 8 rebounds to help the Mustangs knock off D3 No. 1 Wrightstown, 86-77, in four overtimes at the West Salem Holiday Tournament. Erika also added 2 assists and 2 steals in the victory. In their 67-42 win against West Salem in the championship game, Erika tallied 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Simmons, a sophomore, is averaging 19.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for the 9-0 Mustangs. 

Caitlin Tipton, Laconia girls basketball: Tipton scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Spartans, ranked No. 3 in D4, to a 56-47 victory over D3 No. 9 Kewaunee at the Oshkosh West Holiday Classic on Wednesday. The Spartans trailed 42-31 in the second half before ending the game on a 25-5 run. Tipton scored 6 points in Laconia's 44-23 win over Seymour on Tuesday. Tipton, a senior, is averaging 14.8 points per game for the 9-0 Spartans.
