Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of January 9 through 15. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: January 9-15

Blake Derricks, Denmark boys basketball: Derricks scored 40 points in the Vikings' 74-61 win over Fox Valley Lutheran on Friday; his second consecutive 40-point effort. Derricks, a senior, is averaging 22.8 points per game for Denmark (5-4 overall, 4-2 in North Eastern). 

Dakota Hutzler, Rio girls basketball: Hutzler finished with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 9 steals in the Vikings' 64-59 win over Fall River on Thursday. Hutzler, a senior, is averaging 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 5.9 steals per game for Rio (8-2 overall, 7-1 in Trailways-South). 

Chris Knight, Madison Memorial boys basketball: Knight scored a team-high 21 points in Spartans, No. 5 in D1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll, win over No. 7 Middleton, 53-50, on Saturday. Chris tallied 14 points in their 49-39 win over Beloit Memorial on Thursday. The Dartmouth recruit is averaging 15.5 points per game for Madison Memorial (12-2 overall, 8-2 in Big Eight). 

Leah Porath, New London girls basketball: Porath scored a career-high 32 points and went over 1,000 career points in the Bulldogs' 69-30 win over Green Bay East on Thursday. The senior and UW-Oshkosh recruit is averaging 22.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game for New London (7-6 overall, 4-2 in Bay). 

MacKenzie Schill, Pewaukee girls basketball: Schill finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 8 steals, and 4 assists in the Pewaukee's 73-70 win over D1 No. 5 Germantown on Tuesday. In their 67-42 win over Wauwatosa West on Friday, MacKenzie scored 20 points. Schill, a senior and UW-Milwaukee soccer recruit, is averaging 18.8 points per game for D2 No. 9 Pirates (11-3 overall, 5-3 in Woodland-West).
