Milwaukee Academy of Science sophomore Shemera Williams has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of February 6 through 12 after a vote on WisSports.net.

There were 4,163 votes this week; Williams received 1,469, while Two Rivers' Rudy Montoya finished second with 1,439 votes.

Williams became the first player from the class of 2019 to surpass 1,000 career points in last Tuesday's 87-30 win against Carmen. She tied her career-high of 40 points in the win and added 6 rebounds, 12 assists, and 3 steals in the win.

In the Novas 90-9 win over Destiny on Friday, Shemera finished with 35 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 9 steals.

Williams, a Division I prospect, is averaging a state-best 30.1 points, along with 8.9 rebounds, 9.9 assists, and 4.9 steals per game for Milwaukee Academy of Science who is 18-4 overall heading into the WIAA tournament.
