Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Shooter Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

Caroline Busch, Brookfield Central -- Busch is averaging 15.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game for the Lancers. She has connected on 47 of her 125 three-point attempts. Brookfield Central (16-8) face Oak Creek in a Division 1 sectional semi-final tonight at Milwaukee South. 

Abby Guidinger, Kettle Moraine -- Guidinger averaged 15.4 points per game for the Lasers who finished the year with a 12-11 record. The Minnesota Crookston recruit went 39 for 89 from behind the arc and made 62 of her 71 free throw attempts. 

Tori Martell, Somerset -- Martell is averaging 22 points, 4 assists, and 2.9 steals per game for the Spartans. The Montana State recruit has made 70 three-pointers while shooting better than 43 percent. Somerset (20-3) plays Hayward, the defending D3 state champion, in a sectional semi-final at New Richmond. 

Chelsea Olson, Westby -- Olson finished sixth in the state in scoring this season with 24.7 points per game, while connecting on 62 three-pointers. The Youngstown State recruit also contributed 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.4 steals, and 3.1 blocks per game this season for the Norse who finished the year with a 14-10 record. 

Katie Van Scyoc, Lourdes Academy -- Van Scyoc averaged 20.2 points per game and made 54 three-pointers for the Knights who finished the year with a 22-2 record. The Drake University recruit also compiled 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.7 steals per game for Lourdes Academy.
