Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Point Guard Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

Liz Edinger, West De Pere -- Edinger is averaging 16.5 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game for the Phantoms. She helped West De Pere finish undefeated in Bay Conference play; the Phantoms are 22-1 overall heading into tonight's Division 2 sectional semi-final against conference foe Seymour at Kaukauna. 

Emily Kieck, Baraboo -- Kieck, a Winona State recruit, averaged 18.1 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.9 steals per game for the Thunderbirds. She netted a career-high 31 points in a loss to Sauk Prairie on January 13; Emily connected on 49 triples for Baraboo who finished the year with a 11-13 overall record. 

Bria Lemirande, Middleton -- Lemirande is averaging 15.3 points per game for the game; she tallied a season-high 30 points in an overtime win against Lourdes Academy, 78-71, on December 29. Middleton (21-3) plays Mukwonago in a Division 1 sectional semi-final tonight at Madison Memorial. 

Lizzie Miller, De Pere -- Miller is averaging 15.5 points per game with 47 three-pointers for the Redbirds who won the FRCC title. Lizzie was recently named the Offensive Player of the Year in the conference. De Pere (22-2) plays conference foe Sheboygan North in a Division 1 sectional semi-final tonight at Ashwaubenon. 

Cassidy Trotter, Beaver Dam -- Trotter, a Michigan Tech recruit, is averaging 15.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 4 steals per game for the undefeated Golden Beavers. Cassidy scored a career-high 33 points in a victory against Slinger on December 13. Beaver Dam (24-0) faces Cedarburg in a Division 2 sectional semi-final tonight at Hartford.
