Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of February 27 through March 5. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: February 27 - March 5

Morgan Allen, Hortonville girls basketball: Allen finished with a game-high 27 points to lead the Polar Bears to a 74-44 win over Menomonie and first trip to the state tournament since 1987. The IUPI recruit tallied 7 points in a 55-40 victory against New London in a D2 sectional semi-final on Thursday. Allen is averaging 16 points per game for Hortonville (20-5) who face Cudahy in a D2 state semi-final on Friday at the Resch Center in Green Bay. 

Chase Blackmun, Hudson boys hockey: Blackmun was named MVP of boys hockey state tournament after helping Hudson capture the state title. Chase finished with a goal and an assist in the Raiders 2-1 victory against Waukesha co-op in the state championship game at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Blackmun, a senior, finished with an assist in their 4-1 win over Wausau West in a state semi-final and tallied a pair of assists in a 4-0 win over Eau Claire Memorial in a state quarter-final. 

Vaughn Breit, Stratford boys basketball: Breit finished with 24 points and 17 rebounds in the Tigers 72-63 overtime victory against Auburndale in a Division 4 regional final on Saturday. Stratford, seven-seed, beat #2 seed Edgar 49-42 in a regional semi-final, Breit tallied 12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in the win. The freshman is averaging 13.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game for Stratford (17-8) who face Neillsville in a D4 sectional semi-final on Thursday at D.C. Everest. 

Cross Wilson, Menomonee Falls boys basketball: Wilson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to lift Menomonee Falls to a 69-68 win over Fond du Lac in a Division 1 regional final on Saturday. The senior tallied 22 points in the Indians 98-82 victory against Waukesha West in a regional semi-final on Friday. Wilson is averaging 10.2 points per game for Menomonee Falls (17-7) who play Kimberly in a D1 sectional semi-final against Kimberly Thursday at Manitowoc Lincoln. 

Emma Wittmershaus, Bangor girls basketball: Wittmershaus finished with a game-high 27 points in the Cardinals 63-49 win over Shullsburg in a Division 5 sectional final on Saturday; Bangor's second state tournament appearance, they won the title in 1997. Emma tallied 16 points in a 56-45 win over Hillsboro in a sectional semi-final. The UW-Milwaukee recruit is averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game for the Cardinals (24-3) face Loyal in a D5 state semi-final on Friday at the Resch Center.
