Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list previously was trimmed to 15 semi-finalists, and now five finalists for the award have been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL AWARDS -- DEFENSE FINALISTS

Terrence Banyard, 6-6, Destiny – An athletic, active and extremely mobile forward who can guard in the paint and away from the basket, Banyard’s ability to keep opponents away from the basket is a big reason why Destiny has won 22 of 23 games heading into sectionals. Banyard can block shots and rebound, but is also a very capable scorer as he is averaging 16.1 points per game for coach Branden Joseph and the Eagles.

Kyle Clow, 6-4, Germantown – A first-team all-league selection in the North Shore Conference, Clow was the defensive anchor for first-year coach Steve Martin. Clow, who plans to attend Michigan Tech and play basketball at the NCAA Division II school, led the team in scoring (22.9 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg) while also ranking among team leaders in assists (2.4 apg). His physical strength and jumping ability helped the Warhawks in the paint.

Alou Dillon, 6-8, Wauwatosa West – The NCAA Division I recruit for South Dakota State had a solid senior season for Wauwatosa West. At 6-foot-8 and with excellent mobility, Dillon averaged 17.5 points while also grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game. His ability to block and alter shots on the defensive end of the court was a big asset for the Trojans as he averaged 2.5 blocked shots per contest.

Jalen Stephen-Holmes, 6-6, Milwaukee Washington – Holmes earned second-team all-league recognition in the Milwaukee City Conference while helping Washington to a share of the league title with Milwaukee Riverside and Milwaukee Vincent. His size, strength, rebounding and unselfishness were keys to the Purgolders’ success.

Chris Knight, 6-8, Madison Memorial – The Player of the Year in the Big Eight Conference, Knight’s physical strength and athleticism make it difficult for opponents to score around the basket. The Dartmouth College recruit is averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game for coach Steve Collins and the Spartans, who shared the Big Eight league title with Sun Prairie.
