Beaver Dam's Cassidy Trotter has been selected as the top senior Point Guard as part of the WSN Basketball Awards

Trotter is an unselfish player that is strong off the dribble, using it to score or find the open player. Defensively, she uses her quick hands and feet to get steals and deflect passes.

The Michigan Tech recruit is averaging 15.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 4 steals per game for coach Tim Chase and the undefeated Golden Beavers.

Trotter, a 5-foot-8 guard, scored a career-high 33 points in a victory over Slinger on December 13; she added 6 rebounds and 7 steals in that win.

She is the program's all-time leader in points and steals, and is second all-time in assists.

Last season, Trotter was named Wisconsin Little Ten Player of the Year and Honorable Mention WBCA All-State.

Beaver Dam, 26-0, faces Monroe in a Division 2 state semi-final at the Resch Center on Friday at 3:15 pm.

Finalists for the award were Trotter, Liz Edinger of West De Pere, Emily Kieck of Baraboo, Bria Lemirande of Middleton, and Lizzie Miller of De Pere.

Past winners of the award include Hannah Whitish of Barneveld (2016), Gabby Green of Pius XI (2015), Gabrielle Ortiz of The Prairie School (2014), Taylor Schmidt of Algoma (2013), and Nicole Bauman of New Berlin Eisenhower (2012).

WSN Senior Basketball Awards are selected by WisSports.net staff.
