Sometimes the best-laid plans don't always work as you'd expect, but that doesn't mean the result can't be what you want.
Down by two points in a boys basketball Sectional Final against Bangor, Shullsburg had 19.9 seconds to get a good shot. As time ticked down, Noah Wand found himself in a tough spot, having picked up his dribble on the right wing with a Bangor defender all over him. He pivoted several times looking for a teammate, but with time running out, turned towards the basket and launched an off-balance three-pointer. The shot went in to give the Miners a 59-58 advantage as the officials put 1.5 seconds back on the clock.
Bangor turned the ball over and Shullsburg added a free to win 60-58 and advance to the state tournament.
